Be a Voice. Not an Echo.
Sometimes it seems easier to go along with popular opinion but in a world full of people trying to be carbon copies of others, it is refreshing when you meet someone who isn’t afraid to be who they truly are. When coaching a client on happiness, I often ask the following questions: What do you value? What is most important to you? What are you passionate about? What inspires you?
It still shocks me when people don’t have the answer to many of these questions.
When you know who you are and what you stand for, it is much harder for others to sway you in a direction you don’t want to go. When you know what you value, you naturally set boundaries that protect your well being. When you know what you are passionate about, you follow clues that lead to your life’s purpose.
THe more you know yourself and appreciate who you are as a human being, the less you worry about the opinions of others. When you are tuned in with your true spirit, your path becomes clearer and you keep moving forward even if the people around you don’t share your unique vision.
Your thoughts matter, and When you start to respect your own values and opinions, you experience the peace that comes from staying true to yourself, while respecting the opinions of others as well.
Today’s Life Tip:
If you don’t really know yourself well, grab a journal and answer the questions I listed above. The answers you write down are revealing and provide clues to the areas in your life that need improving, and the things you need to make time for. You’re smart.
No one really knows YOU better than you so be still, be quiet and listen to yourself. You may be amazed by what you hear.
